Festival fashion is a thing of beauty, drawing inspirations from all over the psychedelic and eclectic spectrum. And no one rocks the festival fashion better than legendary keyboardist, Kyle Hollingsworth.
We first caught Kyle at his first set with his solo band “The Kyle Hollingsworth Band”. Kyle caught eyes from all across Gem and Jam with his brightly colored floral print button down. But that wasn’t all he had in store for his fans.
Kyle later came out to shred the keys with his other band The Trancident, a jam band super-group and side project of The String Cheese Incident. Kyle again immediately caught the eyes of all festival goers as he strutted out to his keys. Rocking an original James Freeborn designed jacket with some ever so bold yet non-clashing acid wash jeans. But it was truly the jacket that was turning heads.
A beautifully stunning gentleman’s jacket, brightly colored red with eye catching gold trim and hanging tails that screamed class. We were so taken back by Kyle’s enthralling wardrobe choice that we had to catch up with the designer, James Freeborn, to get a little more info on this bold new fashion statement.
James is a fresh new designer with a hungry drive and brilliant designs to match. At just 28 he has been making a big name for himself all across the festival circuit and more. He started Freeborn Designs in April of 2016 with a strong intention to revolutionize men’s fashion.
“I felt that our society’s views on menswear are far too conservative and outdated, and that men should be able to wear a suit that is not the color black, grey or navy blue. A lot of my designs are revamped versions of classic styles from the 19th and early 20th centuries.” – James Freeborn
James designs all his products himself where he has each limited edition design hand made by a family of fifth generation tailors in India. He travels twice a year to Varanasi, India where he hand selects all the fabric and oversees all the production. All his products are one of a kind and limited edition.
